Unfortunately, there is no stable middle ground between the worldviews of the trads and the progs, because they undermine each other. This has been demonstrated independently over and over again through multiple disciplines, so no, we can't just live and let live without chaos. Pluralism would be ideal, but it would require the types of strong institutions humans simply don't have the bandwidth to create and maintain...
